Single price retailer Poundworld has announced the opening of its new store in Stafford which will create 40 new retail jobs for the area.
Officially opening to the public at 10am on Thursday 3rd May, the new Poundworld store at Queensville Retail Park will help cost conscious shoppers beat the recession by offering a ‘value’ alternative to other high street retailers.
With massive savings on leading brands such as Cadbury’s, Coca Cola and Johnson’s, the huge store offers over 5,000 products for the purse friendly price of £1 including household essentials, textiles, toiletries and groceries.
The new 6,500 square foot store will also be home to a Discount UK outlet, the retail company’s new multi-price brand. Spread across one third of the store, Discount UK offers over 3,000 products with massive savings on a vast range of products such as home furnishings, electricals and branded toys making it ideal for local shoppers looking to pick up a bargain.
Chris Edwards Junior, trading director at Poundworld and Discount UK, said: “We’re really delighted to be opening our first store in Stafford and to be creating 40 new jobs for the town.
“By combining a Poundworld and Discount UK store in one outlet, we are offering our customers the best possible value and allowing them to take advantage of great offers on higher-value items over £1 that we aren’t able to sell in a purely Poundworld store. We look forward to welcoming customers and we hope the exciting brand split will prove a big hit with savvy shoppers in Stafford.”
Poundworld plans to help more shoppers in the UK minimise the cost of everyday living by opening a further 35 stores by the end of 2012. Yorkshire-based, Poundworld was founded in 1997 and has over 140 stores across the UK. Discount UK was founded in 2010 and has over 30 stores nationwide.
